The novel takes place over the weeks leading up to Christmas and Kwanzaa. The sisters are close, support each other, but also have those ups and downs that all families go through in their relationships during the holidays.
I've read this a few times over the years... and it always leaves me wondering if it's better to be Naughty or Nice at this time of year...
